While there is pretty much nothing minimalist about my closet, I do believe in basics that are a stable in every closet. This is my list of the shirts that should be in every woman’s closet!

Last week, we touched on the boudoir look for day wear. If you are feeling a little braver with this trend, try a silk or satin sleep dress, with a flat pair of edgy ankle boots.

So, we have all seen the boudoir trend. How is it that a gorgeous taller-than-my-boyfrined model can make it look sleek, and elegant, anyway? Its an amazing look, but also hard to balance and not look like you just rolled out of bed. Here is one take on this trend from us to help ease you into this fashion trend!
A pinstriped satin sleep shirt is classic night wear. While its currently street worthy paired with its matching bottoms, if that look is a little two much for you, try pairing it with a cuffed pair of white straight leg jeans. They look fresh and clean, and give contrast to the I-woke-up-like-this top. Pair it with another huge trend for the year–mules, and leave the heels at home, and keep your hair loose, wild and way. Think less sultry, and more I always look this good.

Pleats started to step into the spot light last fall, and they continue to make their way into the spring. Leave the wide car wash pleats behind, and choose a more narrow pleat in a lighter fabric for spring.

Over the Knee booths are one of my favorite things this winter. Why? Because suddenly my large collection of mini dresses are far more wearable! This year I am in love with these navy suede boots, which seem to just go with everything.
Another trend I am currently loving? Bell sleeves. Its a blast from the past that when paired with more modern accessories can seem fresh and new.
I love this vintage bell sleeve dress, and I also love mixing patterns with a great printed bag!

As you noticed from my outfit earlier this week, I am loving the cropped denim and ankle boots trend. You may have also noticed that cropped jeans with very frayed hems are a raging trend as well! Want to try this trend without breaking your budget? Turns out it is super easy! Here’s how!

One of the big trends this winter has been the skinny scarf. While it isn’t going to keep you warm when the weather gets below zero, its a fresh updated look a very classic look! Its also totally perfect for the mild winter that the northeast has been having!
So how did I wear this trend?
Cropped jeans and ankle boots are another huge trend lately. I am loving these chunky boots because I can be on my feet all day in them!
I also paired this burgundy, skinny scarf with a YSL graphic t-shirt and a blazer. Perfect for a day of running around running errands while still looking put together!

Now that NYFW has come and on, and fashion week continues to move its way around the globe, we have an idea what is going to be big this fall. So what exactly should you make sure to be adding to your closet?
Skirt Suit
There isn’t anything old fashioned or boring about this suit trend. Its updated from previous years with interesting patterns, fabrics and cuts. Also the hem lines stay high, keeping the look ever so youthful (and who doesn’t want to look younger).
Check out this one we are loving from Forever21
Reinvented Denim
We are already starting to see this trend all over street fashion. The new denim look is to take your old denim and reinvent it. Raw hems. Patchwork. It all looks new, and eclectic, and we love it.
You can buy this skirt here!
Say Yes to Velvet
Be new, and reinvent your velvet, with a shift or slip dress, or velvet suit pieces. It adds texture, and a new dynamic to any outfit.
For a safer look, try this shift dress by TopShop.
Feeling a littler bolder? TopShop also makes a blazer.
Burnt Orange
This muted orange color looks amazing on almost every skin tone, and with pretty much every accent color. Besides, it looks so warm, and reminds us of pumpkin spice latte’s.
Check out this great sweater from H&M.
